Suggested Parish Announcements

The Retreat Committee suggests the best approach to assist in placing an announcement in the parish bulletin is the following: As the parish secretary or business manager, a minimum of 7 weeks in advance, if you may place a special announcement in the bulletin. In fact, ask if you could place a series of announcements in the bulletin on a continual basis. If he/she permits only one week of announcements, we suggest you use the following format (you may copy this on your browser or paste in a word document):

Parish Retreat
When is the last time you scheduled a ‘time-out’ with God? If you’ve been looking to get away from the frantic pace of your life, and need a little time to think, pray and rest, then come away for a weekend retreat at Malvern Retreat House, (insert date). A retreat is your personal time to renew your relationship with God, self and others. Take a quiet stroll on the 125-acres of wooded countryside, spend private time alone in adoration with Jesus, or seek the counsel of the retreat director. General retreat for married couples
When is the last time you enjoyed a quiet weekend with your spouse without time constraints? This weekend will enrich your marriage with its special talks, Mass, Reconciliation and quiet time for both of you. Take a quiet walk together through the 125-acres of wooded countryside, spend 15 minutes alone in adoration or enjoy the company of other married couples. We will also be sending you email blasts (if you are on our list) to use as parish announcements this year. For example, many of our new retreats welcome men and women. Also, we have scheduled new thematic retreats with well-known retreat directors like Fr. Mitch Pacwa, SJ, Dr. Scott Hahn, Fr. Pablo Straub, CSsR, Matthew Kelly and Johnnette Benkovic. We need your help in advertising this information to your parish. So be sure to watch your email for future announcements.
