How
you can volunteer!
"I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I
will not refuse to do the something that I can do."
Consider making the
retreat house a volunteer opportunity with:
•
Office work – general mailings, stuffing of envelopes, etc.
• Landscaping
assistance – cleaning the shrines, clearing shrubbery
• Maintenance –
painting, lock repairs, carpentry work
• Plumbers –
needed to help repair leaky faucets, tighten screws and to perform
minor plumbing problems on an ongoing basis
Call our Main Office at (610) 644-0400 if you would
like to volunteer.

Building the Legacy of Faith
From 1922 until 1989, the Laymen’s Retreat League depended on volunteer
envelope contributions from weekend retreatants for funding. It is
important to note that Malvern Retreat House is lay owned and operated.
Malvern Retreat is not funded by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, by
any religious order or foundation.
What,
Why and How!
In 1989, recognizing the need to increase the level of giving, the
Laymen’s Retreat League launched its Development Program. The
Development Program consists of an annual fund appeal, periodic capital
campaigns, major gifts from individuals, bequests from estates, wills,
trusts, memorial gifts, endowment gifts, foundation grants and special
events like the annual Golf Outing and the Malvern Travel Club.
