Divine Mercy Live Stream Event

April 14, 2020

Event: Divine Mercy Sunday Devotions sponsored by Divine Mercy Retreat of Malvern Retreat House with the support of the Parish Community of St. Bridget in East Falls featuring Rev. Stephen DeLacy!

Date/Time: Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19, 2020 from 2pm-3:15pm

The Divine Mercy Retreat of Malvern Retreat House was anticipating a record number of retreatants this year for its 16th Annual Retreat at beautiful St. Joseph’s in the Hill in Malvern but Divine Providence has permitted things to work out in ways we had not planned.  While many are suffering under the weight of crosses currently, we Trust in and Rejoice in the Resurrected Christ, whose Love shines from his sacred wounds as we seek His Will is for us in these times of trail.

In order to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday together, The Parish of St. Bridget’s in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, where Rev. DeLacy is in residence, has given us permission to mark this solemn Feast with a special livestreamed Holy Hour from 2-3pm, concluding with Benediction.

This simple Holy Hour will include exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, blessing of the Divine Mercy Image, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Reflections by Rev. DeLacy, Director of the Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood for Philadelphia, some thoughts by Michael Wallacavage, past Captain of the Divine Mercy Retreat at Malvern, and Benediction!

Not having the opportunity to attend public mass and receive the Sacraments at this time is a painful trial which should increase our love and longing for their restoration.  Also not having the opportunity to take in a full weekend retreat at Malvern Retreat House, with its breathtaking beauty and peacefulness should encourage us not to take it for granted.  While these are trying times for so many, if one is capable, please consider a donation to the Retreat House so that it can be a spiritual resource for many years to come! Donate at  https://www.malvernretreat.com/donate/

Many worked tirelessly on preparing for this year’s retreat.  Particular gratitude goes to Michelle White, who has taken on the responsibility of being the Captain of the Retreat and done an amazing job.  We are all grateful to her, the retreat team and all volunteers.
