Retreat Director

Father Charles Zlock

Father Zlock was born in Pottsville, and grew up in Warminster and Doylestown. His parents were Dr. Charles Zlock (d’ced) , a retired dentist, and Loretta (Walko) Zlock (d’ced), a real estate agent. He has one brother, Dr. Gregory Zlock who is a dentist. Gregory and his wife Margot (a nurse) live in Missoula, Montana.
After high school at St. Joseph Prep, he graduated from Susquehanna University with a BS in Management with a Business Certificate in German. He later matriculated at the University of South Carolina with a Master’s in International Business. After graduation, he worked in industry both in Germany and the United States.

Fr. Zlock entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in 1989 and was ordained by Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua in 1994. Previous assignments included St. Martin of Tours parish then 10 years in education (Archbishop Wood in Warminster; Neumann-Goretti in South Philadelphia then Chaplain-Director at the Newman Center at the University of Penn). Later he served as a member of the Office for Clergy, responsible for “Ongoing Formation” organizing retreats, continuing education, assignment specific training, etc.) for the priests of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. After serving as Rector of Malvern Retreat House, he was 10 years as Pastor of the Parish of St. Monica in Berwyn, PA and then assigned as Pastor of St. Raymond of Penafort Parish in the Mr. Airy section of Philadelphia.

Among his interests are various outdoor activities—fly-fishing, back packing, canoe camping, golf, reading and cooking. He was involved in martial arts for many years, achieving second-degree black belt in Korean Tang-Soo-Do karate.

Mark Houck

Mark Houck is the Founder and President of The King’s Men, Inc.  He is an author and internationally known motivational speaker who developed in 2004 a highly successful ministry to help others become better leaders, protectors and providers.  As a former All-American collegiate athlete and high school coach, Mark has drawn on his personal pursuit of excellence in sports to encourage and mentor thousands across North America and Europe.  Through his seasoned life experience as a human resource manager, youth counselor and high school teacher, Mark brings practical insight and wisdom to all his presentations. Mark is a husband and father of seven children.  He has a B.A. in Human Resource Management from Catholic University and holds a Master’s degree in Education from Holy Family University

Fr. Douglas McKay

Fr. McKay is a nationally-recognized retreat director, author and evangelist. He became a priest in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in 1982, and later founded Our House Ministries, a recovery-based ministry group located in Grays Ferry, Philadelphia. The Ministry is dedicated to helping those who are dependent on alcohol or drugs, who are depressed, or who have turned to crime. He has previously served as Chaplain for Holy Family Home and worked with Little Sisters of the Poor. Fr. McKay was awarded the St. Rita Peace Award in 2015.
