Mark 10:49-52

So they called the blind man, saying to him,
“Take courage; get up, Jesus is calling you.”
He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus.
Jesus said to him in reply, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The blind man replied to him, “Master, I want to see.”
Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”
Immediately he received his sight
and followed him on the way.

Reflect: Jesus is calling you. Take courage and don’t be afraid. Tell him what you need.  Today’s Gospel encourages us to cry out to Jesus for healing from our blindness.  We need to see where sin, resentment, grudges, lack of forgiveness, or selfishness are blinding our ability to see the light of Christ. We need God’s mercy so that we can be instruments of mercy. Once healed, he empowers us to be light for the world.

Pray: Loving God, I want to see clearly instead of through the fog of sin and worldliness. You alone are my true Light. Give me the grace to desire you above all else. Use me to make your light and life known to others. Amen.

WE BELIEVE, AND THEREFORE SPEAK (2 Corinthians 4:13)
