Retreats2Go: Taking Retreats to the Streets

Recently, Malvern Retreat House announced its newest evangelical initiative: Retreats2Go, a program that unites renowned evangelists, musicians, and the Malvern community in an effort to bring the word of God beyond our gates.

In teams, we will visit local parishes, prisons, workplaces, universities, and other communal spaces. Each mission will last for one to two hours, and we will have the chance to speak with, learn from, and share God’s Word with many different groups.

Here are just a few benefits of this innovative Retreats2Go program.

Enlightening & Renewing Local Groups

All people deserve to feel God’s love and encounter Him in life. Retreats2Go will allow Malvern to do its part in sharing the love of God with those immediately around us. We will remind people that they can find peace, healing, and renewal through His grace, no matter who they are or where they may currently be in life. This strong, vibrant message will shine through in the power of our speakers and musicians.

 

Answering God’s Call to Spread His Word

As faithful Catholics, we know that we are to “Give thanks to the Lord, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!” (Psalms 105:1). This is the goal of Retreats2Go. We will focus on true evangelism, not simply preaching to those who are already disposed to listen. By traveling to prisons and speaking with those who are in dire need of God’s mercy and healing, our Retreats2Go teams will be a powerful tool for sharing His divine Word.

 

Strengthening Malvern’s Own Community

In order to launch a successful program outside of Malvern’s gates, we know that we must first have a foundation of strength and unity inside of our gates, which we are blessed to say is the case. Planning Retreats2Go calls upon members of our community to step up and answer the call to spread the Word and love of God. This will, in turn, create a stronger internal community of those dedicated to Malvern’s sacred mission.  Retreats2Go will also attract high-profile speakers, evangelists, and musicians, forming new relationships between Malvern and other Catholic leaders.
