Summer Bonanza of Retreats Offered

A powerful collection of retreats are scheduled in the coming months at Malvern Retreat House.  Well known retreat directors, authors, TV and radio hosts are committed to igniting your faith; one of gathering men, women, families, religious and clergy in the new mission of “Come as You Are.”

Fr. Larry Richards, June 8-9th, a 24-hour retreat for men will kick-off the summer bonanza of retreats with “Be a Man.”  Men of all ages are welcome to attend this life-changing retreat.  Fathers, bring your sons and family members.  If you have never been to Malvern Retreat House, this is your opportunity to experience the “fire of God’s love” with Fr. Richards.

Susan Brinkman, June 9-10th, a 24-hour retreat for men and women in the Family Life Center will unleash the truth behind Mindfulness.  Entitled, “The Catholic Alternative to Mindfulness,” this retreat will assist you in asking “if you really need mindfulness to be mindful?”  As one of the hottest new spiritual practices of our day, Brinkmann will deliver a compelling retreat with a Q & A session as well. Her best-selling book, A Catholic Guide to Mindfulness has received rave reviews globally.

For the first time in the history of the retreat house, we will be offering a Recovery Retreat for those affected by opioids, cocaine, heroin and alcohol.  June 22-23.  This retreat is one of healing and recovery for those affected by addiction personally or through association by family, spouse or friend.  God will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves!  Directed by Mark Christmyer, Founder and CEO of Gethsemani Way Ministries, Marty Kenney, Partner in Gethsemani Way Ministries, Anne Costa, author, retreat director and evangelist and Fr. Bill Dean, this retreat includes small group discussion, prayer, Mass, Confession, Adoration, food and lodging.  All will leave with a Spiritual Recovery Tool Kit.

A Charismatic Retreat with globally recognized retreat directors, Sr. Ann Shields, SGL and Fr. James Blount, SOLT, June 29-July 1.  Powerful preaching, teaching and a healing service conducted by Fr. James Blount.  Music by Mark Griswold and Firehill.  “Faith is Confident Assurance Concerning What We Hope for and Conviction about the Things We Do Not See” is the theme.

Women of Grace with Johnnette Benkovic and her team will be returning to the retreat house for the 12th year.  Preceding the Women of Grace Retreat will be the Benedicta Leadership retreat and, for the first time, a Young Women of Grace retreat will be hosted on Saturday, July 15th for young  girls ages 13 years to 17 years of age.

“Embracing the Holy Duet:  Mary and the Holy Spirit” is the theme featuring presenters:  Johnnette Benkovic, Father Philip Scott, FJ, Kathleen Beckman, Thomas K. Sullivan and Jack Williams.  Music provided by Women at the Well, a professional women’s music group.  A weekend full of uplifting talks, preaching, music, healing service and community with women across the U.S.

Gary Zimak will be returning with a new retreat entitled, “Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled-Finding Peace in a Stressful World.”  July 27-29th in the Family Life Center; a retreat for men and women.

The Joy of Restoration retreat with an all-star line-up of Damon Owens, Devin Schadt, Dr. Peter Kleponis, David Abel, Megan Murphy, Marty Rotella, Msgr. William King and others will be launching a new retreat here for men and women.  August 3-5th in the Main Retreat House.   We all need restoration from time to time in our spiritual lives, our relationships with God and others, in our families and communities.  This retreat will look at restoration in terms of forgiveness and accountability, relationships with God and others, mercy and healing.

First Tent Revival –October 7th from 1PM to 7PM.  Mass, adoration, confession in the field, activities for families.  Guest line-up to date:  Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, Jesse  Romero, Johnnette Benkovic, Fr. James Blount, Jennifer Hubbard, Kathleen McCarthy, Teresa Peterson (Prayer and Praise music) and Marty Rotella (music).  A special rosary walk to our shrines will honor Our Blessed Mother on this special feast day, Our Lady of the Rosary.  All under a huge 1,000 person tent.  Food offered.  A bi-lingual event for all.  FREE.
