Community Outreach Manager


The Community Outreach Manager works with the Men and Women of Malvern Group Leaders, Catholic Affinity Groups, and internal staff to meet our growth and retention objectives. They develop strong relationships with existing and potential group leaders, individual retreatants, and key stake holders to increase retreat attendance. This is a full-time position with evenings and weekends as required. Remote work is available. Position reports to the Chief Operating Officer

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of five to seven years+ of professional sales/customer service experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite especially with experience with Excel, Word,

    Power Point, Publisher, and ability to learn our proprietary software

  • Knowledgeable of the Men and Women of Malvern retreat groups.

  • Knowledge of Catholic Affinity Groups a plus.

  • Detailed understanding of and love for the Catholic faith

    Critical Skills/Demonstrated Behaviors

  • Excellent customer relations manager who guides retreat groups through the retreat process working with the entire spectrum of the retreat community from new prospects to long-time retreat members.

  • Effectively uses referrals, networking, and research to grow our annual attendance

  • Outstanding communication skills including attentive listening skills; expressing ideas

    clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Natural relationship-builder who finds and makes connections between people of faith

    and the mission of Malvern Retreat House.

  • Self-starter who is persistent and flexible; correctly anticipating what needs to be done

    and doing it

Key Responsibility Areas

  • New Retreat Group Identification: Identify, inform, and invite new groups to attend retreats

  • Group Leader Engagement: Motivate, invite, recruit, and support Men and Women of Malvern group leaders in the identification, cultivation, and invitation of new retreat attendees.

  • Communication: Prepare, deliver and follow-up on retreat group communications, invitations, retreat logistics, and post retreat reviews to assure an excellent retreat experience.

  • Plan, implement and track short and long-term strategies with the Philanthropy team to measure our success and create accurate revenue, cash, and involvement metrics for the organization.
