The Pennsylvania Governor’s office recently updated the November 20th, 2020 COVID restrictions for Pennsylvania. The guidelines from local, state, and national agencies will update as the COVID pandemic situation changes. Malvern Retreat House Guidelines are driven by the latest information from health officials and are determined by our staff and the MRH COVID Task Force. Our goal is to keep the retreat house environment healthy and safe for all of our guests and staff.

The following highlights the COVID Guidelines for Malvern Retreat House. You can find the full guidelines on our website COVID page.

  • Travel: Guests traveling into PA from out of state must have a negative COVID test within 72 hours before entry OR must quarantine for 14 days.  Our Pledge/Waiver Form has been updated. Our interstate guests are asked to note that they have had a negative test or have quarantined.
  • Masks: Universal mask-wearing is required in all public places, indoors and outdoors at Malvern Retreat House.
  • Social Distancing: Social distancing is in place throughout MRH. Occupancy for retreats is limited by social distancing requirements. We work with captains, recruiters, and retreat coordinators to safely welcome as many on-site retreatants as possible.
  • In case of illness: If a retreatant on your retreat becomes ill, the retreat may be suspended. We do this to keep retreatants and our staff safe. We remind everyone to avoid attending a retreat if you are feeling ill, or experiencing any symptoms of COVID. Anyone showing a fever at check-in will be asked to leave the retreat.

We appreciate the support of guests and staff as we implement these measures. We encourage those of you who are unable to join us in person to join us VIRTUALLY.

We apologize for any inconvenience these ongoing changes and updates may have on your retreat plans. We appreciate your frustration; however, we are confident that by abiding by our guidelines and following these recommendations we can keep our retreatants and staff healthy and safe. Thank you for your understanding! Only with your cooperation will we keep moving MALVERN FORWARD!

Be assured of our prayers, and please continue to pray for Malvern Retreat House!

Gratefully,

Malvern Retreat House

Update July 28, 2020

The Malvern Retreat House Board and staff are pleased to report that our new guidelines are in place. In recent weeks, as began our phased reopening, guests and staff have embraced these guidelines.   We are confident that the COVID measures will  keep staff and guests safe. The following are the key points for guests visiting Malvern Retreat House.

  • Social distancing is in place. The recommended six feet distance limits occupancy. This means that a limited number of retreatants can be on-site and/or in different areas at the same time.
  • Masks are required as mandated by the State of Pennsylvania. Reminders and signs are posted throughout the buildings as a reminder for all who visit Malvern Retreat House.
  • Wellness and temperature checks are a new part of our check-in process. Guests have their temperature taken by Malvern staff and sign a pledge which includes a short wellness questionnaire.
  • Retreats are shortened. Pre-registration is required and walk-ins cannot be accepted.
Thank You!
