An Update from Malvern Retreat House

The Pennsylvania Governor’s office released new restrictions which go into effect on November 20th, 2020.

Malvern Retreat House has updated our already strong guidelines to conform to the new restrictions.

  • Travel: Guests traveling into PA from out of state must have a negative COVID test within 72 hours prior to entry OR must quarantine for 14 days. Our Pledge/Waiver Form has been updated to reflect this change and guests will be asked to note that they have had a negative test
  • Masks: Universal mask wearing is required in all public places, indoors and outdoors at Malvern Retreat House.

The Guidelines developed by the Malvern Retreat House COVID Task Force have kept our staff and visitors safe during the COVID pandemic. We believe these additional measures enacted will help slow the spread of COVID.  We appreciate the support of guests and staff as we implement these measures.

Malvern Retreat House is committed to serving retreatants and to our mission. The Retreat House remains open with limited capacity and COVID guidelines in place.  We do understand that many people have concerns and we invite you to join in a virtual retreat, and visit our You Tube Channel for ongoing support!  The good Lord has provided us all with the technology needed to keep us connected to one another in these difficult times!

Be assured of our prayers, and please continue to pray for Malvern Retreat House!

Update July 28, 2020

The Malvern Retreat House Board and staff are pleased to report that our new guidelines are in place. In recent weeks, as began our phased reopening, guests and staff have embraced these guidelines.   We are confident that the COVID measures will  keep staff and guests safe. The following are the key points for guests visiting Malvern Retreat House.

  • Social distancing is in place. The recommended six feet distance limits occupancy. This means that a limited number of retreatants can be on-site and/or in different areas at the same time.
  • Masks are required as mandated by the State of Pennsylvania. Reminders and signs are posted throughout the buildings as a reminder for all who visit Malvern Retreat House.
  • Wellness and temperature checks are a new part of our check-in process. Guests have their temperature taken by Malvern staff and sign a pledge which includes a short wellness questionnaire.
  • Retreats are shortened. Pre-registration is required and walk-ins cannot be accepted.
Thank You!
