While living Puerto Rico, Father made a Cursillo Weekend, and since then, he has remained active in that movement on both local and national levels. He later taught in St. James High School in Chester, PA and St. Pius X High School in Pottstown, PA. In 1982, Father John entered the seminary again, and he was ordained to the priesthood in May of 1983.

From 1983 – 2000, Fr. John served as Parochial Vicar of the following parishes:

He initiated Spanish Mass in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Hilltown; St. Isadore, Quakertown; and Immaculate Conception Parish, Levittown. In 2005, Father was appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Bensalem where he served for six years when he was later appointed Pastor of St. Martin of Tours Parish, Philadelphia in 2011. In January of 2017, Father resigned from the parish for health reasons and served as Parochial Vicar until his appointment as Rector Pro Tem of Malvern Retreat House in June. Aside from his parochial duties, Father John has preached several parish missions in the Philadelphia area and has given several retreats here at Malvern Retreat House.
