Fr. Thomas Dailey, O.S.F.S.
Fr. Thomas Dailey, O.S.F.S. currently holds the John Cardinal Foley Chair of Homiletics and Social Communications at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where he also directs the Catholic Preaching Institute.
Fr. Dailey entered the religious congregation of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales (O.S.F.S.) in 1980, was ordained to the diaconate in St. Peter’s Basilica (Rome) in 1986 and was ordained to the priesthood in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Wilmington, DE) in 1987.
He earned his doctoral degree in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University (Rome) and is a member of the Academy of Catholic Theology and the Catholic Association of Teachers of Homiletics.
Prior to his work at the seminary, he taught in programs at Allentown College/DeSales University, at Immaculata University, at the Washington Theological Union, and in the National Institute for Clergy Formation. Fr. Dailey has written, edited, or translated ten books and authored more than eighty contributions in a variety of scholarly and pastoral publications. His commentaries have appeared in news outlets and on digital media nationwide. He has given academic lectures, pastoral presentations, or spiritual conferences in dioceses throughout the USA and abroad.
He serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Catholic Higher Education and as a member of the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Spirituality.
