Mr. Massimo Paris of Broomall, PA was born and raised in Rome, Italy. He has studied all aspects of the Holy Shroud, conducted research, and visited sites related to the Shroud. In the year 2000, he travelled to Turin for the exhibition and personally venerated it. Mr. Paris is a good friend of Emanuela Marinelli, whom he considers  his mentor, the internationally renowed Shroud scholar from Italy who has authored 20 books on the subject. He also knew the late Dr. Carlo Goldoni, the Italian hematologist who identified the blood type (AB) from the stains on the Sudarium of Oviedo (the cloth placed on the face and head of Jesus after His death, the same as is found on the Holy Shroud.
