Deacon Michael Pascarella, Jr.

Deacon Michael Pascarella, Jr. grew up in Saint Lucy’s Parish in Manayunk, Pennsylvania. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University, a Master of Science degree from West Chester University, and a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He is a 1992 graduate of the Church Ministry Institute. In 2006, he entered Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, and was ordained a permanent deacon on June 2, 2012, for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He is currently assigned as the Associate to the Vicar for Clergy for Permanent Deacons. Prior to his appointment to his Archdiocesan post, he enjoyed a 35-year career in law enforcement.
Deacon Pascarella has been married for more than 30 years and has twin sons. He is also a Man of Malvern, having made more than 40 weekend retreats. He was originally a member of Our Lord of the Sea group. He is a former Associate Captain of Our Lady of Lourdes Group, and the founding Captain of Our Lady of the Rosary Family Retreat.
