Fr. Sanjai Devis

Fr. Sanjai Devis is a Vincentian priest ordained in 1997. His education has given him a strong background in Theology, English Literature, Education, Sociology, Mental Health Counseling and Spiritual Direction. He is presently a Ph.D. candidate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Neumann University in Aston, PA. Since his ordination, Fr. Sanjai was involved in education, social work, financial management, and retreats in India. Since his arrival in the Diocese of Camden, NJ in 2004, he has served as hospital chaplain and Parochial Vicar. In 2015, Bishop appointed him as the Diocesan Director of Hospital Chaplaincy and Stephen Ministry.  For the past five years he has overseen the Catholic chaplaincy program for 18 hospitals and healthcare facilities in South Jersey and has developed the Stephen Ministry program in 16 parishes with 300 ministers providing confidential care to people experiencing crises in their lives. Fr. Sanjai is the Spiritual Advisor for the South Jersey Catholic Medical Association. His other commitments include presenting World Wide Marriage Encounter weekends, teaching counseling and spiritual skills in the permanent diaconate program, providing spiritual direction and counseling and conducting retreats and parish missions.
