Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy began his military career in 2007 as a Marine Infantryman, later earning the elite title of Force Reconnaissance Marine and serving as a Scout Sniper and Joint Terminal Attack Controller across multiple combat deployments. Selected for the prestigious Medical Enlisted Commissioning Program, he became a U.S. Navy Officer in 2018, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and later a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and Leadership.
As a Trauma Nurse, he provided critical care at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, and aboard the USNS Comfort during the COVID-19 crisis. Now completing his Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification, he continues to advance military medicine as Officer in Charge of the David R. Ray Branch Health Clinic, ensuring the medical readiness of future Marine Corps officers.
