Tony Meléndez

José Antonio (Tony) Meléndez Rodríguez is a Nicaraguan-American guitar player, composer, singer and songwriter. Tony was born without arms and plays the guitar with his feet. He has performed during the Knights of Immaculata Men of Malvern retreat as well as given a general performance at Malvern Retreat House in November of 2016.

In 1987, Meléndez sang Never Be the Same while playing the guitar in a special performance for Pope John Paul II. The Pope was visibly moved by Tony’s performance. Currently, Tony and his band have a busy concert schedule. He also gives motivational talks, has written a book and campaigns for the pro-life cause.
