Malvern Retreat House is seeking its next President to lead and serve this Catholic retreat ministry as it enters an important new chapter.
Malvern Retreat House is a Catholic retreat ministry dedicated to providing a sacred place where people can step away from the noise of daily life, encounter Christ, and experience renewal and transformation. For generations, Malvern has welcomed individuals, families, parishes, schools, and organizations seeking spiritual growth, healing, peace, and hope.
The President will serve as the chief executive leader and primary steward of Malvern’s mission, vision, and long-term vitality. Working in partnership with the Board of Directors and Senior Staff, the President will provide strategic direction, organizational leadership, and responsible stewardship of the ministry..

- Strengthen Malvern’s financial sustainability
- Expand its reach and impact
- Develop its people and programs
- Cultivate philanthropic and community relationships
- Steward the Malvern campus and its resources
- Strengthen Malvern’s ministry and service to the Church and broader community
The role requires a leader who can effectively balance mission and ministry, strategy and operations, financial stewardship and growth, and relationship-building and organizational leadership.
Leadership Profile
The successful candidate will bring senior-level leadership experience and a demonstrated ability to lead people, manage resources, build relationships, and advance an organization’s mission.
The President should be a practicing Catholic who understands and embraces the mission of Catholic retreat ministry and can authentically represent Malvern Retreat House to the retreat community, the Church, its supporters, and the broader community.
Who we are Seeking
Malvern Retreat House is seeking a leader who brings strength and experience in the following areas:
Mission & Catholic Identity
A practicing Catholic with genuine resonance for retreat ministry.
Executive Leadership
Proven operational and financial stewardship of a mid-sized nonprofit or similar organization, with experience working with a Board, managing the retreatant community, and leading a multi-generational and diverse staff.
Fundraising & Advancement
A track record of major-gift cultivation and campaign leadership, along with a willingness to serve as the public face of philanthropy for Malvern.
Approachable Presence
A leader who can engage retreatants and staff with warmth and empathy, moving comfortably between the boardroom and the chapel.
