Deacon Mark Kuhn

November 27, 2017

Deacon Mark Kuhn was baptized into the Catholic faith as an infant, but he was raised Protestant and belonged to three very different denominations in his formative years.  He was led back to Catholicism while getting his bachelor’s degree in modern foreign languages at Holy Family University, partly through the kindness of the nuns and mostly through the example of his girlfriend Suzanne, now his wife for over 36 years.  They have been active members of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Southampton for most of their married life and have raised four children in that parish.  Mark is a longtime employee of Kingsbury, Inc., where he works as Business Development Manager, overseeing the work of the firm’s international sales representatives.

Deacon Mark began his studies at Saint Charles Seminary after his youngest child turned 10 and was ordained by Archbishop Chaput in June 2015.  The primary focus of his diaconate ministry has been evangelization work, as in 2003, he felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to help revitalize the Church.   With the help of several faith-filled parishioners, he formed an evangelization team that now includes members from other local churches.  From the very outset, it has been an extraordinary experience for all involved in this ministry, and with the Lord’s help, Deacon Mark trusts that more workers will join the evangelization team in the vast harvest fields.
