Fr. Dave O’Brien

Father David O’Brien is a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, currently assigned full-time in the education apostolate. He provides the sacramental needs for both Lansdale Catholic High School and Archbishop Wood High School, and helps to plan and present retreats throughout the year for both communities. He lives in Doylestown, PA at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and enjoys celebrating Mass on the weekends for the parish community whenever available.
Father Davis O’Brien grew up in a large Irish-Catholic family in Chester County. He is the second oldest of seven children and entered Saint Charles Seminary in Philadelphia right after graduating from Bishop Shanahan in Downingtown in 2010. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Philosophy from Saint Charles College Seminary in 2014 as well as two Master Degrees in Theology (MA and Mdiv) from Saint Charles Seminary in 2018 and 2019, respectively, focusing his senior thesis on the importance of preaching for the universal growth in holiness.
Father David O’Brien was ordained a priest on May 18, 2019 and spent the first few years of his priestly ministry at Saint Jude Church and Shrine in Chalfont, PA as the Assistant Pastor. Some of his hobbies include spending time with his family as well as outdoor activities, such as fishing, golf and snowboarding.
