Fr. John Anthony Hutta
April 29, 2026
Father John Anthony Hutta serves as the Pastor of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish in Hellertown, Pennsylvania, where he is known for his dynamic preaching, joyful spirit, and deep love for Jesus Christ and His Church. He has also led numerous conferences and retreats for parishes, local chapters of the Legatus, the Knights of Malta, and Catholic Medical Associations in various dioceses. Fr. Hutta brings to each setting a pastoral zeal, theological and depth, and an inspiring call to deeper discipleship.
He grew up in a big hardworking family, where discipline, sacrifice, faith, and service were not merely ideals, but a way of life. That foundation continues to shape his priesthood today.
A son of Pennsylvania’s coal region, Father carries both the strength of a military upbringing and the perseverance of hardworking roots, with coal dust in his lungs and a deep appreciation for the dignity of honest labor and a life of prayer. Over the years, he has served in parishes, hospitals, offered trauma and pastoral counseling, ministered to the poor, engaged in missionary outreach, and worked across cultures and languages. As a Bi-ritual priest, he serves in both the Roman and Byzantine traditions, bringing a rich spiritual depth and a profound love for the universal Church.
His motto is simple yet powerful:
With energy, authenticity, and a shepherd’s heart, Father Hutta challenges others not to live the faith at the minimum, but to live it boldly, joyfully, and wholeheartedly.
