Bringing the Message of Lourdes to Malvern
The Relic of St. Bernadette is coming to Malvern Retreat House, bringing the message of Lourdes — a message of hope, healing, prayer, and trust in God.
As we welcome this sacred relic, we invite you to make a pilgrimage to Malvern and experience this special Journey of Grace. Come pray, reflect, and open your heart to God’s healing grace through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother and St. Bernadette.
Whether you come to venerate the relic, spend time in prayer, or simply seek a moment of peace, Malvern Retreat House is a place to step away from the noise of daily life and encounter Christ.
Join us as we welcome St. Bernadette and the message of Lourdes to Malvern.

Three Masses. Choose the one you will attend.
Registration is required for each Mass, and seating is limited. Please register everyone in your party at once so we can seat you together.

Seating is limited to 315 people. Registrations are confirmed in the order they are received. When a Mass reaches capacity we will mark it closed on this page — please check here before you travel. Veneration of the relic outside of Mass is open to all and does not require registration.

What to know before you come
Malvern Retreat House sits on 125 wooded acres, and much of the pilgrimage is outdoors. A few practical notes:
- Wear comfortable walking shoes — paths to the Grotto and the shrines are gravel and grass.
- Arrive early. Parking is on campus and fills quickly on Mass days.
- The campus is largely accessible; contact us ahead if you need assistance and we will arrange it.
- Please silence phones in the chapels and at the relic.

A Journey of Grace
Make a day of it
The relic is the heart of the visit, but it is not the whole of it. Let the day be a pilgrimage.
Pray at Our Own Grotto
Malvern’s Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes was built in the likeness of the grotto at Massabielle. St. Bernadette kneels there in stone, as she knelt in 1858.
Venerate Two First-Class Relics
Alongside the relic of St. Bernadette, Malvern is home to a first-class relic of St. Carlo Acutis.
Adoration in the Good Shepherd Chapel
Spend time before the Blessed Sacrament in the quiet of the Good Shepherd Chapel — the stillness that Lourdes is really about.
Visit the St. Carlo Shrine
The Shrine & Center for Eucharistic Adoration houses the international exhibition The Eucharistic Miracles of the World, catalogued by St. Carlo Acutis himself.
Go to Confession
Priests will be available throughout the visit. At Lourdes, the sacrament of reconciliation is as central as the water — it is the healing most pilgrims came for.

A short film on the apparitions, the spring, and the pilgrimage that has drawn millions to a small town in the Pyrenees for more than 160 years.
Stand Beneath the Papal Cross
Raised in memory of St. John Paul II, the cross is visible from across the campus and marks the open lawn where pilgrims gather.
The Reliquary
What you will see
A gilded Gothic shrine carrying relics of St. Bernadette from her tomb at Nevers.
Beneath its spire, Our Lady stands in the niche of the grotto as Bernadette described her — robed in white, a blue sash, a rose at each foot. The reliquary has left Lourdes only rarely. For this special pilgrimage, the relics of St. Bernadette are leaving Lourdes once again and traveling across the United States, bringing the message of Lourdes—hope, healing and faith.
